Hazardous Materials Training
This course provides training necessary to meet the following standards for personnel who will be called upon to provide a defense posture on Haz-Mat incidents. The curriculum is based upon U.S. Department of Labor, (OSHA), 29 CFR 1910.120 and U.S. EPA 40 CFR part 311 regulations and NFPA 471 & 472 standards.
HAZ-MAT OPERATIONS LEVEL
EMERGENCY SPILL RESPONSE TEAM
24 - 32 HOURS
First Responders at the Haz-Mat Operations Level are those persons who respond to releases or potential releases of hazardous materials as part of the initial response to the incident for the purpose of protecting nearby persons, the environment or property from the release. They will be trained to respond in a defensive fashion to control the release and keep it from spreading. Due to the nature of this program, an in-house evaluation will be needed to determine the appropriate Level of Hazardous Material Protections that will be needed.
After this evaluation, specialized equipment must be purchased by the company. This can be provided in the overall course cost. It is also recommended that each employee participate in a NSCFAI Level II First Aid Course or equivalent.
